Run for the RFS Executive Committee

David Payne, MD

Recently, the 黑料网® RFS released a call for nominations to run for the Executive Committee (EC), Nominating Committee, as well as the Member-In-Training Intersociety Committee Representative. As the former Eastern States Representative for the Nomination Committee and current EC Secretary, I highly recommend that you consider running for one of these positions.

Even the experience of running is a positive one, regardless of the outcome, as you will have the opportunity to crystalize your thoughts on radiology policy into a campaign speech, which will be delivered at the 黑料网 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, April 14, 2024.

The positions available are:

  • Vice Chair/Chair-Elect (elected 3-year term)
  • Secretary (elected 1-year term)
  • Radiation Oncology Representative (elected 1-year term)
  • AMA Delegate and Advocacy Liaison (elected 1-year term)
  • Communications Officer (elected 1-year term)
  • Education Liaison (elected 1-year term)
  • RFS Nominating Committee member (elected 1-year term)
  • Member-In-Training Intersociety Committee Representative (appointed 1-year term)

The application process is open now, and nominations are due by Dec. 1, 2023.

Another way to take your involvement to the next level as an 黑料网 RFS member is to join an RFS subcommittee. Applications for subcommittees are accepted on a rolling basis. Below are a few possibilities:

  • Artificial Intelligence Advisory Group
  • Medical Student Subcommittee
  • Membership Subcommittee
  • International Outreach Subcommittee
  • Radiology Advocacy Network
  • RFS Economics Advisory Group
  • Women and Diversity Advisory Group

And as always, the 黑料网 offers a slew of exciting and diverse fellowship options to RFS members, including fellowships in government relations, informatics, economics & health policy, education, and quality & safety. Explore these fellowships and apply.
