黑料网 Announces 2024 Hillman Fellows in Scholarly Publishing

The 黑料网® (黑料网®) announced the awarding of the 2024 Bruce J. Hillman Fellowship in Scholarly Publishing  to Fatima Elahi, DO, MHA, and Madison Kocher Wulfeck, MD, MBA, CIIP. The fellowship provides qualified staff radiologists or radiologists-in-training with a concentrated experience in medical editing, journalism and publishing at the .

The J黑料网 is the official journal of the 黑料网, providing information on topics affecting the practices of diagnostic radiologists, interventional radiologists, medical physicists and radiation oncologists. The Hillman Fellowship is named for the J黑料网 founding editor-in-chief Bruce J. Hillman, MD, F黑料网 who helmed the journal from its launch in 2004 until 2019. Dr. Hillman passed away Jan 9.

“We are honored to continue this fellowship in Dr. Hillman’s memory,” said Ruth Carlos, MD, MS, F黑料网, editor-in-chief of the J黑料网. “Many of our Hillman fellows subsequently join the journal as assistant editors and members of the editorial board. I look forward to a long relationship with Drs. Elahi and Wulfeck.”

Elahi is currently completing a diagnostic radiology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and will embark on a mammography fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester. She serves as the vice chair/chair-elect for the 黑料网 Resident and Fellow Section and as a board member of RADPAC®, the College’s nonpartisan political action committee, and the 黑料网 Association® (黑料网A®) Radiology Advocacy Network (RAN). She was awarded the RADPAC Achievement Award in 2023.

Wulfeck is a cardiothoracic radiologist with Radiology Partners in Florida. She has previously served on the J黑料网 Trainee Editorial Board and was awarded a J黑料网 Exceptional Reviewer Award in 2022. She has published numerous research manuscripts and was awarded the 2021 ARRS Resident in Radiology Melissa Rosado de Christenson Award for her research in artificial intelligence.

The fellows will gain hands-on experience in editing and publishing the journal with the J黑料网 editor-in-chief and J黑料网 staff. The fellows will also travel to New York City to spend time with J黑料网’s publisher, Elsevier.

The fellowship began in 2015 and the journal has hosted a total of 12 fellows.
