The 黑料网® (黑料网®) and several specialty societies requested Current Procedure Terminology® (CPT®) codes at the September American Medical Association (AMA) CPT Editorial Panel meeting. The hybrid meeting was the last of three meetings to update codes for the 2025 CPT code cycle.
The 黑料网, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Association of University Radiologists, Society of Interventional Radiology and American Society of Neuroradiology collaborated with the American College of Cardiology, American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the Society for Vascular Surgery to present code proposals requesting Category I codes for percutaneous radiofrequency ablation of thyroid, prostate biopsy services, MR examination safety procedures. In addition, the specialty societies requested the conversion of Category III codes to Category I for cryoablation of somatic nerves and revisions to Vascular Procedures guidelines and endovascular therapy codes 61624, 61626. If approved, the new Category I codes and revisions will be effective Jan. 1, 2025.
