黑料网 Supports Clarification When Adding Physicians and Physicists to NRC Licenses

The 黑料网® (黑料网®) filed comments Nov. 4, with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regarding intended to provide clarity on the training and experience (T&E) documentation needed to demonstrate a professional’s eligibility to serve as an authorized user (AU), authorized medical physicist (AMP), or radiation safety officer (RSO) on an NRC license.

The NRC’s guidance is essentially in response to the American Board of Radiology (ABR) decision to discontinue issuing NRC-recognized certificates with AU-, AMP- and RSO-eligible designations as of 2023. ABR’s decision obligates licensed medical facilities to use T&E documentation from training programs and individuals instead of board certificates when completing forms to add newly practicing single-boarded radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical physicists to NRC licenses. The NRC guidance strives to make that process understandable and streamlined.

黑料网 generally supported the guidance effort and made recommendations intended to help provide further clarity and improve aspects of the NRC license amendment process.
