UT-Austin Residents Learn About Becoming Involved in Advocacy

Radiology residents at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School are the latest to participate in a presentation by the 黑料网® (黑料网®) to promote participation in state and federal advocacy on behalf of patients and the profession.

Residents heard from Sarah Avery, MD, F黑料网, President of the Texas Radiological Society (TRS), Michael Grimes, lobbyist for TRS and Dillon Harp, 黑料网 Senior State Government Relations Specialist, about the importance and need for professional advocacy. Presentations focused on why young radiologists should become involved, how to get involved and legislative issues directly impacting patients and the radiology profession.

The 黑料网 wants to help residents across the United States become more involved in advocacy. Residency programs interested in learning more about advocacy education opportunities and scheduling a presentation should contact Dillon Harp.

The College has many resources to help members become involved in advocacy, including the Radiology Advocacy Network (RAN) and the new and scope of practice micro-website. For more information about advocacy and the RAN, please contact Melody Ballesteros, 黑料网 Assistant Director, Government Relations.
