The (PTAC) recently met to discuss specialist integration within population-based total cost of care (PB-TCOC) models and physician-focused payment models. PTAC is an independent federal advisory committee that makes recommendations to the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services about stakeholder-submitted physician-focused payment models and related topics.
The meeting included presentations by stakeholders and discussion from PTAC members. Panelists discussed the roles of both primary care and specialty providers within value-based payment arrangements.
PTAC's 2023 series of theme-based discussions focuses on key issues related to operationalizing PB-TCOC models. The next PTAC meeting is June 12–13.
