The 黑料网® (黑料网®) State Government Relations team participated in the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Scope of Practice Summit, held June 13 in Chicago.
During the summit, medical specialty groups from across the country discussed the landscape of scope of practice in 2022 and what to expect in 2023. AMA staff highlighted scope of practice victories in 2022 and leaders from the Mississippi and Indiana Medical Societies shared how they approach educating state elected officials about the dangers of expanding scope of practice for non-physicians.
In 2021, the 黑料网 Association® (黑料网A®) created the Scope of Practice (SOP) Fund to safeguard patients and patient access to radiologist expertise. The fund helps state radiological chapters fight non-physician SOP expansion legislation. As more non-physician groups seek to expand their scope of practice, it is vital for the 黑料网 and state chapters to continue to fight against these harmful overreaches.
The 黑料网 encourages any state radiological chapter that is currently facing or expects a scope battle in 2023 to apply for the fund.
