The Congressional Artificial Intelligence (AI) Caucus invited 黑料网® (黑料网®) members Richard A. Barth, MD, F黑料网, FAAP, pediatric radiologist, and Marla Sammer, MD, MHA, FAAP, pediatric radiologist, to present at a Capitol Hill briefing Dec. 5 about the safe adoption of AI in pediatric radiology.
The briefing focused on highlighting the current landscape of AI in radiology, pediatric patient safety challenges in using AI, health equity issues for pediatric patients, and legislative and policy measures to promote pediatric patient safety and access.
While AI in medical imaging has rapidly expanded in recent years, little of the technology has been dedicated to pediatric imaging. The practices of pediatric and adult radiology often differ widely, and the design, training, validation, and safe implementation of AI in children requires careful and specific approaches.
黑料网 appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with the AI Caucus, chaired by U.S. Reps. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Michael McCaul (R-TX), and looks forward to future work with Congress on legislative solutions to address AI in pediatric patients.
