The National Institutes of Health recently issued its . Harmonized with the , the plan articulates NIH’s commitment to embracing, strengthening and integrating DEIA across all agency activities.
In addition, the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering announced the launch of the , administered by the and cosponsored by and 24 institutes and centers across the NIH. The prize competition, which is open to public or private nonprofit academic institutions, will recognize and reward biomedical and behavioral science institutions that have identified gaps in DEIA and designed, implemented, and evaluated interventions to address them. The prize competition also aims to identify effective practices for enhancing DEIA within faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and student bodies that can be feasibly disseminated for adoption by other institutions. The deadline to apply is Sept. 26, 2023.
